ART X Lagos, an art fair by TP Collectives is taking place in Victoria Island this weekend. The fair aims at connecting Nigeria to a world of contemporary art scene all over the world.
According to their website –
ART X Lagos has been created to contribute to the increased visibility of
contemporary artists from Africa, creating a vibrant art market and positioning
Lagos as an emergent cultural capital on the continent.
The maiden edition of ART X Lagos will take place at The Civic Centre, a state of
the art conference and banquet centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, from
Friday 4th November to Sunday 6th November 2016.
More than 65 African artists from over 10 countries will showcase the best contemporary art. Among those participating are William Kentridge from South Africa, Zimbabwe’s Kudzanai Chiurai, Sokari Douglas Camp, Victor Ehikamenor, Lakin Ogunbanwo, Rubi Onyiyechi Amanze, George Oshodi and Alimi Adewale from Nigeria, Ghana’s Jeremiah Quarshie, Cameroon’s Barthelemy Togou and Mali’s Amadou Sanogo.
