The 2024 Sprinng Writing Fellowship call for application is currently ongoing and closes in a few days, April 15. An initiative of Sprinng, a literary institution with the mission to empower diverse African writers and amplify their voices, the 6-week online mentorship program is open to developing writers from four African countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, and South Africa.

The fellowship takes on mentees who are yet to publish a book and between the ages of 18 and 25, covering these 6 genres: Poetry, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Book Review, Play/Drama, and Blogging. Mentors for the program this year include poets Dami Ajayi (Affection & Other Accidents, 2022), and Abu Bakr Sadiq (Leaked Footages, 2024).

Eligibility:

  1. Must be a citizen of these countries and residing there: Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia or South Africa
  2. Must be between the ages 18-25
  3. Only open to writers who have not published a book before (eBook/hardcopy).
