General Submission Information

We accept submissions year-round
All submissions must be previously unpublished work
Response time varies based on submission volume
We reserve the right to make minor edits for clarity and formatting
For significant edits or title changes, we will consult with you before publication

Publishing Rights

By submitting to Nantygreens, you agree to the following terms regarding publishing rights:

First Publication Rights: Nantygreens acquires first worldwide electronic publication rights and archival rights for work published on our platform.
Author Ownership: Contributors retain copyright of their work. After publication on Nantygreens, all rights revert to the author.
Online Usage: We maintain the right to keep your work in our online archives indefinitely and to feature it in our online collections.
Print Anthology Rights: Nantygreens reserves the right to include your work in future print or digital anthologies. Authors will be notified when their work is selected for anthology inclusion.
Author Credit: We will always attribute work to the original author and include your bio with any republication.
Future Usage by Author: After publication on Nantygreens, authors may republish their work elsewhere after a 30-day exclusivity period, provided they acknowledge Nantygreens as the place of first publication.

What We Publish

Poetry

Three Poems Feature (Published Wednesdays)
- Submit exactly three poems in a single submission
- No specific length restrictions
- Include each poem on a separate page with its title
General Poetry (Published throughout the week)
- Individual poems with distinct titles
- No specific length restrictions
- If submitting one or two poems, these will be considered for the General Poetry section

Fiction and Non-fiction

Maximum 2,500 words per piece
Complete works only (no excerpts from longer works)
All fiction genres welcome
Creative non-fiction may include personal essays, memoirs, and literary journalism

Book Reviews and Literary Commentaries

Maximum 1,000 words
May cover books, photography, visual art, performances, and other creative works
Should provide thoughtful analysis rather than simple summary
Include full publication information for reviewed works

Essays

Maximum 1,500 words
Focus on literary, cultural, or artistic topics
Well-researched with proper citation where appropriate

Listicles

Maximum 800 words
Must maintain literary focus and quality
Should offer meaningful insights beyond simple enumeration

How to Submit

Prepare your submission as a Word document (.doc or .docx only)
Include a cover letter with:
- Your name and contact information
- Title and word count of your submission
- Brief description of the work (2-3 sentences)
- Confirmation that the work is previously unpublished
- Mention if this is a simultaneous submission
Include a short bio (50-100 words) that will appear with your published work
Attach a high-quality photograph of yourself
Include your social media handles if you wish them to be published

Publication Policies

Editing: We may suggest edits to improve clarity, flow, or formatting. Significant changes will require your approval before publication.
Simultaneous Submissions: We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us immediately at [email protected] if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Payment: At this time, we do not offer payment for published submissions.
Resubmission Policy: After publication, please wait six months before submitting new work, regardless of genre.
Response Time: While we strive to respond promptly, high submission volumes may extend wait times. If you haven’t heard from us after three months, feel free to inquire about your submission status.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be notified when my submission is accepted?
Yes, we notify all authors whose work is selected for publication.

Will I be notified when my submission is received?
We generally do not send acknowledgment of receipt.

Can I submit multiple pieces at once?
Please submit only one piece per category at a time, with the exception of the Three Poems Feature, which requires three poems submitted together.

Can I withdraw my submission?
Yes. If you need to withdraw a submission, please email [email protected] with “Withdrawal” in the subject line.

How do I check the status of my submission?
If three months have passed without response, you may inquire about your submission status via email.

What happens if my work is selected for a print anthology?
You will be notified and credited appropriately. No additional compensation is provided for anthology inclusion at this time.

Can I republish my work elsewhere after it appears on Nantygreens?
Yes, after a 30-day exclusivity period, you may republish your work elsewhere, with acknowledgment that it first appeared in Nantygreens.
