What Does My Country Do With this Wall? │ Shedrack Opeyemi Akanbi │ Poetry

My country is on the move
But her legs are those of a dipsomaniac.

The torchbearer forgets to take his promises along
So he leaves my country at
The gate of Canaan &
Moves backward, chewing
His words with every step.

My country’s nose almost catches the
Smell of Milk & Honey
But Jericho is twice as tall.

What does my country do with this wall?
