September 2020 Writing Prizes Spotlighting The African Continent

The world wants to know more about Africa. These are calls for penetrative essays from writers all over the world on our struggles with climate change, ancestral ties and more. Remember no one can capture the African perspective better than you who live in it.

1. The Bergen International Essay Competition
The Bergen International literary Festival for non-fiction and Fiction attracts writers under the age of 30 from every continent. This year, they want excellent essays on the theme ‘My Generation’.

2. Casa Africa 12th Essay Prize
Casa Africa is holding the Casa Africa prizes for essays on the theme ‘Climate Change In Africa‘ by writers of any nationality domiciled in any country in the world. They want essays that depicts the realities of Africa being a continent that least contributes to climate change but suffers it the most.

Prize: A single prize of € 2,000.

3. Shoreline Of Infinity Flash Fiction Competition
Shoreline Of Infinity wants funny science fiction stories with a maximum of 1,000 words. Each applicant can submit up to 2 stories.
Deadline is 11:59 pm (UK time) 12th September, 2020.
Prizes
Winner- € 50 + 1 year digital subscription to Shoreline Of Infinity.
2 runner ups will each receive 1 year digital subscription to Shoreline Of Infinity.
