Ile

Awon kan ko ra won jo
Won ni awon fe ba oke sota
Oke oje
Oke omu
Oke ni ori eyin enin tin rin
Some converged
With the notion of conspiring against the mountain
Mountain did not eat
Mountain did not drink
Mountain will win its assailants
Aire patiko l’an gbo ohun eja lomi
Ifa ya fa l’an mo ibi ejo gbegba
The mellowing sound of fishes is heard gently under water
A snake’s track is known by its track
Ile ti mo te yi
Ategbe!
Iba ate bi owo
Iba atete ese
Iba atelese to tele tiko hu run
Iba ona se woroko wo’fe
Awon kan ko ra won jo
Won ni awon fe ba oke sota
Oke oje
Oke omu
Oke ni ori eyin enin tin rin
Some converged
With the notion of conspiring against the mountain
Mountain did not eat
Mountain did not drink
Mountain will win its assailants
Aire patiko l’an gbo ohun eja lomi
Ifa ya fa l’an mo ibi ejo gbegba
The mellowing sound of fishes is heard gently under water
A snake’s track is known by its track
Ile ti mo te yi
Ategbe!
Iba ate bi owo
Iba atete ese
Iba atelese to tele tiko hu run
Iba ona se woroko wo’fe
The ground I stand is a solid one
I stand unshakable
Hail the palm
Hail sole of the feet
Hail the sole that walks the ground without bringing furs
Hail the road that leads to the ancestral city of Ile-ife
We move through the Mountain
We sail the River
We gait the Jungle
On the Mountain the animals could not hold us down cos our hands are joined
In the River the whale could not drag our feet cos they are interlocked
Through the Jungle, games could not charge at us cos we have leaves in our mouths
And now we shall walk through the fire with our skins unscaled
We shall not only hold hands nor interlock feet
We shall hold minds FOREVER!
We stand unshakable
