Poem: Second Coming by ‘Demola Solade

0
SECOND COMING
You have opened my sense of sight,
Daughter of Eve.
My loquacious food-taker enclosed
By the virtues of your womanhood
Blinding my distrusted mind.

You have deceived me,
Daughter of Adunni.
My heart- in whole- has been shattered to shreds
Like the wasted documents of the village headmaster;
Useless…
But useful to the world of ashes.

You have sharpened me,
Daughter of Fadeke.
Burying my blunt-edged chewer
To resurrect the pointed lots
Ready to devour your kind

Now I'm alive
Just as the saviour of Christendom
Ready for my second coming with sword
Unlike Him, I am taking on the guilty and the innocent.
